At a guess, you've used km/h limits rather than mph

either that or you have placed/removed signals and the AI is running under a yellow sig. Trains run at about 1/2 speed under a 'Caution' and 22 is near enough half of 40...

I've got the same problem going on.... I never thought about the fact that 22mph = 40x0.6, ...but... I have my units set to imperial and I have no idea where any other settings might be for it.

The speedboard itself!

Irrespective of the number shown on the board and/or your choice of metric/imperial units, all 'speeds' in Trainz are expressed in the speedboard's config under the 'speedlimit' tag which is (iirc) feet per second (or is it meters?).

Either way irrespective of any in-game settings the actual speed of a train on the route under a 40kph board will be about 60% of its speed under a 40mph board because the value specified under 'speedlimit' for the two boards will be correspondingly different...

Andy :)
