speed change

Is there a way to up the speed limit in and out of portals? The built in speed seems to be about 10-15mph, but I was wanting to change it to 40mph.

You are stuck with the default entry and exit speed. I have no idea why it is so slow, presumably it is hard-wired or somebody would have fixed it. Best thing you can do for new trains entering the route is place a speed limit sign positioned about 1.5x the length of your longest train after the portal...
