Speaking of Crashes

Get over it
My hard drive died on June 22 but it was still under warranty and I'm expecting it back tomorrow with the OS installed and ready to go. A quick question. I backed up the important things (Trainz) on an external drive. Should I just click and drag from the external to my new drive or use the import files? Does it really make a difference? Thanks.

In order for Trainz to function properly, it has to be installed so that the proper information will be placed in the Windows Register. Anything that you have created or downloaded is contained in the Trainz local folder so after you reinstall Trainz you can import the contents of the local folder and everything should be as it was before the crash.

Hi,

for TS 2009 & 2010 you must use the file import - for the older 2006 you can copy the folder (but be prepared for the CMP to do a re-build before running a route.
