Spaces in new track appearing

Hi all,, Can someone help here please,,,? I am putting down new track, and it looks ok. but when I try a loco it says no junction, or end of line
or no lever for junction.
The track looks ok but when I look on mini map there is a space and no matter how I try I cant join it up,
Its a good one this.
Any offers please.

First guess is that at some stage you may have clicked on the split spline button and accidentally separated the track sections.

Second guess is that the track might look as if it’s joined, but possibly hasn’t snapped together. This can happen if you hold the Shift key when laying splines. It’s a useful trick for getting all sorts of stubborn spline vertices to lay in difficult places, but not recommended when joining track sections.

Try selecting the move track button and dragging the two together at the required join. Try it, even if they look joined.

If all else fails it’s often easier to delete the offending section of track and re-lay a new piece.

This sometimes happens in the mini-map and I noticed this on occasion too especially where there are level junctions and bridges. Having said this, don't worry about the mini-map in this regard as long as your trains run fine.

Ok,,,First off Mezzo,, it isn't either of those as I have checked.
Next John,,It wont let the loco go further, and the message,,,,,Unable to plot route,,Junction is missing lever.
I have a jpeg of what the track and mini map looks like but I don't know how to attaché to this thread.
As I said the track looks good and acts good, what I mean is it cant be rejoined as its not split but you can only see the error in mini map
as there is a space like a section missing, but no way can I put a piece in..

Have you tried running a train over the area manually? You will find the spot when it derails.

I guess you were both right after all as I manually drove a train over the track and it derailed.
I had checked for that but not close enough as the vertexes were that close (one on top of the other) that I missed them.

That is so true, glad to be of help.
Another way to find a problem 'unable to plot route' on a track is to set the train going with the 'Drive' option and then keep trying the 'Continue schedule' till the AI takes over and that's where your problem lies.

These little spaces are difficult to see in Surveyor and sometimes the only way to find them is let the AI complain and then drive yourself as you were told by the others. You're no dope. If you were you wouldn't be asking questions.

What is frustrating is the AI message "Unable to plot route" especially when you have a lot of drivers and a big route. If the message said, Unable to plot route to Smithtown or something like that. This would help narrow down the problem.

It's like being yelled at for something you don't know what you did.

I see where you coming from and I do thank you for your patience and help,,the thing is I have had windows xp for donkeys years and very happy
with it and Trainz 2006 the same, but just recently I have changed to windows 8 and trainz 2010 and having to pick up on both at the same same time.
and I am now just beginning to see the benefits of both of them though at times it is a bit daunting.
So with that I think this thread should now be closed as I have said enough and once again thanks.
Oh ,,,I would like to know how to put a screenshot on the forum as an aid to visual explanation at times, if someone could pm please,
