This Saturday, March 7th, will mark Southern 4501's inaugural run of 2015, not pulling a mainline excursion, but the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum's regular Missionary Ridge Local. She'll be pulling the train on Saturdays and Sundays. The train departs from Grand Junction station at 10:40AM, 12:05PM, 1:15PM, 2:25PM and 3:35PM. Tickets are $17 for adults and $11 children 3-12. I suspect that they're doing with 4501 what you would do with a brand-new car: you drive your new car around town before taking it on a long trip.
