Some US-Canada border pics.

Unfortunately, it won't be available on the DLS because it's an 80 Mb file (and growing!), but I plan to distribute it on CD by request when it's done.

Fun route, and an interesting theme. I look forward to more pics! :D

To answer one of your questions, spring switches do exisit. They're most often associated with "kick-back" tracks from ore dumps.

Sometimes, this use being more common in europe I've heard, double track railroads will employ them like a derail to prevent reverse movements (back-up strips for trains?!).

Another thing I could do is send it online via Skype (web phone calling service). No filesize limit, unlike email.

Heck....I am game for that....Or if you have MSN/AOL/YAHOO Messengers that will work to :)....Do you have any of them by chance that I could add ya to???

The only Amtrak train to Ontario and Toronto is the Maple Leaf from Manhattan, NY.

Hold that thought.... There are a few more. How about the Adirondack from New York Penn to Montreal Central. For you "Westerners": The Cascades. I've been on both the Maple Leaf and the Adirondack services. I plan on (in the near future, probably 2010 when I do a months worth of travel every five years) taking the Cascades. I must admit though, Canadians have better sleeping compartments on their nightstar (not sure about the Budd Stainless steel)stock. Go VIA!

Cheers!

Nice looking route !

Especially the US-Canada theme, some interesting consists will be seen there ! :p

As for the file being 80meg, if you send a message to helpdesk/ PM one of the moderators here, they may allow your route to the DLS !

Hope this helps,
Gangsta.

Transportfan, love the screenshots, your route looks excellent. Gangsta Boi has come up with a good suggestion about contacting Auran directly, other creators have huge sized layouts already on the DLS, however, just as long as it doesn't get any bigger than 80 mb you might be OK.

Cheerz. ex-railwayman.

Before I can do that, I'll have to learn how to fix errors with objects and industry tracks. All my stations simply have normal non-passenger- enabled tracks due the industry tracks having errors I can't fix.

I'm glad this thread is back. Here are some more shots, this time of the major freeway crossing:

Wow. I have been here before......

Excellent. The most amazing thing about these last shots is I have been there before in the early 1990s. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Hopefully we can see some more.:udrool: :mop:

^^^ That's impossible. The area looks nothing like shown in these shots. In real life it's only a 2-lane highway crossing in the middle of wilderness. :)

This is what the real Pigeon River border crossing looks like:
