#1. where do I find instruction to add routes onto my existing routes?
#2. Where do I find out how to add working signals?
#3 how do I get rid of things I have up loaded but don't want any more?
#4 What makes my trainz run so jurkey? and slow?

Sorry, I'll have to pass on #1.

For #2 try the signalling tutorial on Chuck Brite's Midwest Central web site but bear in mind that signalling systems differ quite significantly by country and in some cases within each country.

#3 depends on which version of Trainz you have. In TRS2004 you can just delete the kuid folder, or use Trainz Objectz to do that job for you. In TRS2006 you use CMP but I'll have to leave it to someone else to explain how. Trainz Objectz isn't compatible with TRS2006.

#4 is a whole area of study in its own right. To begin with you need at least 1GB of ram and a fairly modern fairly powerful video board to run Trainz properly. You can adjust various performance versus quality sliders within the program, and for more advanced tweaking you can edit the trainzoptions.txt file (a search should find plenty of advice about it on this forum). Finally, tweaking the DirectX and/or OpenGL performance versus quality settings for your video board might have some effect.

Hope this helps a bit,

John

thanks

I guess I didn't word the #1 question very well.
what I want to know, if it can be done, is how to add a downloaded route to one I have made, in other words merge them

For number 1:
Go into surveyor.
Go to the menu on the top left corner.
Select merge routes.
Pick which one you wan't to merge.
Then pick where you wan't to merge it on a mini map type thing.

Also for 4 that happens when you have to much scenery to.

Yes indeed, and too much rolling stock also. It seems to be number of different types of objects that matters, not (within reason) the number of each type of object. For example twenty identical coal wagons have far less effect on performance than twenty different types of wagons.

Why not fix the slowness?

One would think the the Planit would fix that. Thanks for the help .
I am enjoying the Tranz very much, in fact so much that for two days last week I did little or no work. I guess you would say I'm hooked. I think I am going to have to take this home and set it up there . It's not good at the office. Thanks again for the help

Just to add to this, when your in Surveyor with the one of the routes you are merging, and you use the advice above you will see arrows to move the second route around. Where they cross over they will show a red colour and it may take some practice to get this right. If your not sure do not save your new merged map. Just start again.
