Some ongoing AI issues.

As a user of AI a fair bit, seem to still have issues of Trains getting stuck at signals. Waiting for new instructions. Basically my route is of UK origin. Now is it a type of signal that is being used that is causing the issue and failure to proceed. Not really up to speed on Signal types.
The other issue is sometimes when restarting my session, no sound loads for the session ??. Have to save and exit and restart, sometimes fixes it.
Got to admit do not like the fact they have killed the fill grid tool. And the awful ground colour of the baseboards. Please bring back the Grid baseboards. The Bulk asset update replace for this is not a satisfactory work around. Especially when editing a current route. When driving you will find the annoying little gaps in textures showing the grid pattern which before you could use fill grid to the desired texture.
Anyhow 2019 is quite good. Still getting my head around 2022 and the new Surveyor tools. A get a bit lost on what I have done and where I am creating and how did I do that. All good will get there.

The grid is still there, select the display menu from the top of the route then select ground and grid.
The fill grid is still around under a different routine. Select Marquee (bottom right of the tools). Mark out the area to fill. Select the texture you want to fill it with and click on the Marquee tool again. Left-click on the little square that appears in one of the corners and select paint within marquee.

But what you have explained is in Surveyor 2.0 Which I have not got round to using in my 2022.
I am still in 2019 platinum and that uses the old Surveyor. Where they have changed things for the worse.

The grid pattern is still there and is only a texture just like the grass. You can replace the grass by using a region that has the grid, or by editing your own custom region and replacing the kuid for the grass texture with the grid. pware some other users have uploaded replacements.

Original build number, current build number (ie. 4.8, 5.1 etc), The placement of signals to the AI perspective has deifintly changed. I think it's more solid now. You might have to move the signals around or add more (could be invisible).

In the route I am working on, one train has to wait for another to pass the next signal before it can join the track, and it signals "stuck". But this is not a problem: once the front train has moved on, the red changes to green and train moves happily on although, in the drivers' box, it still says "stuck" for a long time.

If another train is in the section ahead fair enough you dont proceed. What I found if you roam past the stuck point to say where there is more turnouts which are locked, and then move further on to where there are turnouts not locked. Change them and your train starts to move, so one has over ridden the AI path. But once past the stuck section one can continue schedule on the new path you have put in. Sort of odd. Or you can stop train at the stuck point, manually move past the signal. You get the has passed a signal at danger ??? Was nothing in front anyway. And then select continue schedule and everything proceeds as if nothing happened. ???
