So what are these locomotives, and some other good stuff...

http://goo.gl/maps/EGq2R. I can't figure out what these locomotives are. They have a different cab on them.

Location Antelope, CA. Near the yard which had the 4-car derailment mentioned above.

Also found in the same location, but on Bing maps and not Google Maps: http://binged.it/1zSFsIp Trolley car? and some old chassis lined up.

Look around in both Bing and Google, there is a collection of other cool stuff here, which would make a nice scene somewhere on a route.

Dave, try clicking that link, then reverting to the classic Google Maps. It should take you into bird's eye view of the area to reveal what John is talking about.

One appears to be an F40PH rebuild and the other the same, but with one radiator fan removed?
It looks like the two bay window cabooses are a Western Pacific and a Southern Pacific. There are several 38 foot tank cars and numerous flatcars, mainly of what appear to be the 89 foot long variants. There is also a Southern Pacific Hyrda-Cushion plug door boxcar and remnants of the top halves of autoracks. I think it is reasonable to assume that some, most, or maybe even all of the flatcar bodies are the bottom halves to autoracks. This listing isn't everything, but the place is a treasure trove to railfans.

This is a hint of what might go on at this location.

Thank you for the explanation! This really is a cool area with all kinds of cool stuff which gives me some ideas for my route.

Did you notice the trolley car in the Bing maps link?

The yellow one appears to be longer than the blue, and the spacing of the fans wouldn't indicate one was removed, more that it only had two to begin with. If you have a look through this list of EMD Cowl Units, you might find it.
