Snow

The only thing SNOW is good for...

Why is it people never buy bread, eggs & milk for weeks, and weeks, on end...but let it snow 1/2" and everbody and their cousin is having French Toast all of a sudden, and the store shelves are bare !

Snow, Cold, and Work are bad 4 letter words, that should never be used !

The only thing SNOW is good for is:
(1) Keeping beer cold on the porch.

(2)Keeping the Outback Steakhouse leftovers fresh in the car trunk while you go to the movies.
(3)And, for: http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc339/cascaderailroad/WTF.jpg

The sky has been dark gray for 10 straight days now...The wind threatened to tear the roof and siding off the house, and it has been snowing everyday, an inch or two here and there...some places have 8" and the Garrett Cutoff road near Sandpatch Tunnel was closed, as they have several foot deep drifts of blowing snow.

And to think I toyed with the notion of visiting US Base McMurdo (AQ) Antarctica...Scott South Pole Base Record: -127F, and wind speeds of 225 mph. However...Today in Antarctica, it is a balmy Sunshiney Summer...-3F, wind speeds of 57 mph, with blowing ice crystals !

Cycles

Not since 2002 when I came to Bucharest has it snowed here, but this year was again a white christmas. About two inches, not bad for a sub-tropic climate.

We have warm summers and cold winters....:) at least the 2 last winters where cold with a lot of snow.

this morning we had -21 degrees and approx. 25 cm snow.

2 photos from a local newspaper...

I think it's nice to have all seasons. During the 3 summer months, we have tempratures from 20 to 25 degrees as an average max. temp. during the summer days.

The change in season is quite present with strong autumn colors.

Hi all,
It's unusual for snow to stay for so long in Scotland, unkike Scadanavia - a few days to a week is normal - this is day 17 for this location in Fyvie, Aberdeenshire. Probably about 16 to 17 inches. Great if you don't have to bother with work.

Cheers,

Ian

Its -2C here and we had about 25cm too and we even had a powercut last night, for 12 hours. The engineers had too many call outs, I had to call the police last night as I was involved in a disturbance and it took them 45 minutes to turn up and travel 2 miles. It was horrendous and still is.

I tried to take the dogs out earlier with my dad and we had to dig the car out twice! My dads Automatic Vauxhall Omega which did very well, but it got stuck in Bosham!

I DO hope it's the Leopard Print like we discussed earlier...!:hehe:

Charlotte? As in NC? Closest I've ever been was Nags Head, but it don't seem right for snow down there. You have my condolences...

All of this sounds and looks like perfect Trainz weather to me. Warmly sit inside with my favorite beverage and create something.

Sorry Ed,

The leopard print snuggie was recalled by the manufacturer (in China) due to the NRA receiving serious complaints about "senior citizens" dressed in their snuggies (leopard print) being fired on when they went out to get their mail by many hunters.

Your version will be a beautiful shade of blue, with little white bunnies tied to railroad tracks with approaching trainz in the distance.

Yes Charlotte, as in North Carolina. Residents here are in panic looking for bread and milk as the storm approaches.

Have fun,
Ron

Snow

After the time last month where I cleared out a lot of snow and still felt it 2 days after...

I like snow, just hate the trade-off when having to clear a lot of it out.

Senior citizens in snuggies...
I'm blind!:p

with all due respect, can you please watch it with the capital letters because it is hurting everyone's ears and not to mention mine as well, thanks!

They've just changed the accumulation figures to "8 to 12 inches".

Yay.

hmm, sounds better than the higher snow accumulations, I can't imagine what is like shoveling the snow that is blocking the sidewalksbut it could have gotten worse!

Blame the National Weather Service, I'm only the "copy and paste" guy!:hehe:

It is a copy/paste from the NOAA weather site. They use caps for their updates. watches and warnings.

NOAA = National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Euphod would never intentionally try to hurt your ears.

If it bothers you..... put him on ignore.... simple as that.
