During the previous eight years rail freight traffic was up so much, Amtrack had to add many hours to the schedule to have a chance of keeping it. Thanks to the current "change" that trend should reverse and we will be back to the good old days.

The current conditions had better be temporary or we'll be in trouble. (More than we already are, anyway.)
That's a good example of why you can't run a railroad on someone else's track.

That and there is a reason why we have a 'Trackage agreement that clearly illlustrates what track belongs to what railroad and if another wants to use that track then they will have to pay, otherwise that will interferre with conflicting freight movements!
Hi All: This problem could of been solved many years ago, simply by having Freight and passenger right aways. The biggest problem we have with RR's today is there so Freight oreinted, that they (the RR's) don't want passenger to interfere with thier FREIGHT..That is one of the big reasons why we are so far behind, they can't get this fiqured out..
