Just curious, how many opened the thread thinking it was a glitch in the program, and how many would have seen the landslide if I had not mentioned it.

He's just thinking outside the box that's all. I don't ever see people making threads about landslides, so this is cool.

Just curious, how many opened the thread thinking it was a glitch in the program, and how many would have seen the landslide if I had not mentioned it.

First I thought it was a glitch and then I thought it was a joke as those orange thnigs on the landslide appeared to be giant mushrooms, any confirmation on what they actually are?

Yes the orange things are rocks, (from the dls) I don't recall who made them but that's what they are. There are not that many large free standing rocks on the dls, perhaps those that think they are mushrooms should compare the shape of a mushroom to the shape of the rocks. Then they can learn Gmax or Blender and make some that more closely resemble a large freestanding rock.
All of the routes that I have built are fictitious. I will take a little of different things from various real life railroads and incorporate them into the route I'm building. Thinking outside of the box is a good comment, never thought of it that way before. This allows me to create something that is interesting to me and I can throw whatever into the route without being out of context.
The idea behind the landslide could be that just after the bridge was built, half the mountain came down and buried it,so it was easier to go around then to dig it out at the base of an unstable mountain. The idea is from the Frank slide.

If you google earth the Frank slide, Alberta, it shows up quite well.
Some of the other sections are similar to Myra canyon forest fire that destroyed many trestles on the old Kettle Valley Railway,The Quintette Tunnels and various other places. Its just my way of modeling a railway and it gives me the opportunity to be creative rather then trying to copy an existing one. The modeling of an existing railway, the grades, the landscape ,the towns, its all there,no need to think outside of the box, just copy.
There's nothing wrong with that, that is what modeling is. I admire someone who can do that, an example the Donner's Pass that is out . I do it my way and others do it their way. That's the fun part of Trainz, do what you want and enjoy.
