slowness in trainz 2006

when i load a route even built in routes trainz 2006 goes as slow as hell

when you say pc specs are you refering to like the computors type etc?
btw sometines my internet goes weird and when i try to view the thread again bits are missing etc so i put in coments that i think should be there to find i had allready :S

What screen resolution are you using ?

1280x720 (if refering to the resolotion in the options on trainz06)

Now download FRAPS and install, it will tell me what speed Trainz is running at

http://www.fraps.com/download.php

then get FRAPS running and run a small route, tell me what the numbers are, these are the Frames per Second

What route is that

Mt computer specs are lower than yours, and I get 20-30 FPS on most routes

Do you have TS2010 or TS2009 as they are much faster

yes but its a few years old and belongs to my dad
and i have been running it on this laptop for months with no problems its just started happening on its own accord :S

Perhaps you changed someting in Trainzoptions.txt ? A couple of years ago I changed something that caused some built in layout to run at about 2fps.

Maby i think im going to try diffrent screen resilotions first.
