Sliding gates

I downloaded the sliding gates from yukonzoom, but need a way to control them. They open too soon and stay open if cars are spotted near them. Is there any way to use triggers or controllers to open and close when needed? Or does anyone know of gates by anyone else that are controllable?

Thanks.

To close the gates after a car is spotted, install a derail just on the side of the gate. After you spot the car position the turnout(derail) lever so that the green arrow is not aligned to the car spot. The gate will close, just remember it will derail your consist if you reverse over the derail position when pulling the car from thru the gate. I use Derail WCH Portable built-in T12 <kuid:106916:10178>, and Invisible Wire Red bnsf50 <kuid:39134:100314> to attach.

I'm not quite sure how to rig this up. What do you do with the invisible wire? I put the derail on and it shows RED arrows BOTH ways. WHAT do I connect to WHAT with the wire?

Create a spline point where you want to place the derail, insert the invisible wire at that spline just as you would if you are placing a diverging track, a junction lever should appear, replace the junction lever with the derail, the derail should be visible, if not rotate to other side of track.

Worked perfectly. Thanks. I had to put one on either side of a particular gate that had cars on one side and a loco on the other. What is the purpose of the invisible wire?

The invisible wire is really invisible track. The wire is thinner. I've done the same thing with an invisible layer and the BNSF50 blue invisible track to let my crossing gates go up after I've moved cars in my yard. The derail and "wire" essentially does the same thing. I may actually change mine to that. :)

ATLS Will also control any gate in the same way as a crossing is controlled. Can also be used for security gates/barriers for driveable traffic.

Just think of the gate as a crossing. Connect the slave to the gate track and run the actual track over, but not connected to the gate. Set the triggers and controller as for a normal level crossing.

You can use any of the trigger settings (2, 4, arrive or depart) just think of the gate as being a level crossing. You can also control the gate by the ATLS driver commands if you wish as they act the same as a trigger.

It helps if we know which gate it is as some do and some don't open.

I can't get any to open...right now I'm trying to figure out what is wrong with the Debrecen GOCS gate; in Surveyor it appears to linked to a trigger placed right in front it, but it never opens.
