Size of area to be copied and paste?

Looks like I'm late to the party...basically I do what has already been described. I also changed the FOV so I can pull back farther before it goes into map mode. I use it for large areas mostly to dupe large landscape areas - mountains, water, etc. The trick is to turn the orientation (you can only do 45 degree turns) so it isn't obvious it's a duplication.

Hello NJCurmudgeon,

To late to the party ? Oh no, the doors just went open ... :hehe: . Thank you for the extra information.

Best regards

One other useful copy/paste feature:

Let's say you added a baseboard and some/all of it needs to be ocean. You can copy from an existing ocean area and then paste not only the seabed texture and elevation, but it will include water at the correct level. Of course you will need to fine tune along the shoreline manually.

Hello schweitzerdude,

Thank you for your reply.:)

Well yes, a part of my route also contains a part of he Northsea. I just have to look at what angle the water section was placed. Hopefully the angle is one, which has no restriction in Trainz.

Best regards

I also use the right mouse button to "fly across the map while holding down the left mouse button. The area to be copied expands as I move.

(How do you do 45 degree rotation? My 2012 only seems to let me do 90 degree changes.)

If you have a large area 4 to 5 boards why not clone your route remove what you don't want then merage them.?

Hello Scottish,

Thank you for your answer :). I will try your method in Trs2010 and TS12 and see where it gets me.

Best regards

Hello,

Ref Scottish answer - see post #5

I have tried his method within Trainz2010 and TS12. Within Trainz2010 - the program is thinking about it and thinking about and thinking about it ... until it presents an error and Trainz has been closed.

Within TS12 - the area which has been copied, could be pasted without any problems. Just one strange thing - the undo button doesn't become active, but when I close down surveyor, the program asks me if the changes must be saved.

Best regards
