Singled tunnel

Hi I don't know if anybody can help. I'm running 2004 and I'm looking for a double track tunnel that has been singled, with the remaining track moved to the middle of the bore. If anybody knows of an item it would be of the greatest help. Thanks

I don't know of any already available, but I'm currently exploring a technique to create them. I've not completed one yet, but the technique bears some promise. I can't swear the technique will work in 2004, as I first purchased Trainz in 2006.

The basic idea is to create the landscape, collect the necessary elevation data around the tunnel portals, build the tunnel and model the surrounding terrain as structures in your favorite 3d modeling program, cut out the baseboard where the tunnel goes through (using the "hole punch" built into 2006, and I presume in 2004), place the tunnel, and lay the track through the tunnel.

To use this technique will require facility with a 3D modeling package.

The config file has a typo error in a kuid...I will guide you through correcting the kuid in 2 places on the config file & getting it committed.

I layed double track right through it, right on top of the tunnel track, just a hair higher than the single track.

Using the Hold+Shift Key to keep the 2 tunnels separate...You can butt the large portals together inside a mountain, so that only the small portals are showing.

You can even dim the bright color of the portal stone by using MS Paint, Irfanview or some other photo software

how you do get that tunnel to work. i cant that thing to show up at all.

there is are 3 places in the config file that need editing.

The same main kuid is typed far below with the wrong number

And one bridge track is unknown kuid on DLS

Change the 3 kuids, and it works

Change the bridgetrack kuid to any track kuid you like best; I used MP Tunneltrack Dark <46162:38013>
