Signals to protect diamonds

Hi,

I am not sure if I am posting in the right forum, but I wanted to know if there are any signals on DLS for protecting diamond crossings. If not is there anyways I can protect them.

Thanking in advance

In 04 no (it has been discussed several times before). I think somewhere in 06 there is a way to signal a crossing. Anybody can shed a light on this?

Diamond Crossover

I found this Rule titled Diamond Crossover, kuid2:44272:90001:3.

I have downloaded it but have not yet had a chance to see how it works. Can anyone give us a clue?

Yes there is a way to do this with junction controller. You make two catch points, one on each line, then link them with junction controller so that when one is open (derail), the other is closed (not-derail) and the other way around. Then you place signals before the points, and the signals will change to red when the catch points are open because the track will be unsignaled, forcing AI to stop. If you give me two minutes I'll try to make a tutorial with screen shots.

Ok I found a problem with that idea - aperently because there is a train over a junction doesnt mean the junction link wont change the direction on it, cause the said train to derail :) I shall work on this now :P

Hmm I'm not sure I think you need to use Junction Controller V2 NOT Junction Link, but I dont feel like downloading it right now :) Do search the forums, this question has been asked many times before and I know it has been solved.

The Diamond Crossover rule works quite well most of the time. You place four signals at the crossover to control crossing and label them, say North, South, East and West. Then select and open the rule for edit in Surveyor. You will get a dialogue box in which you place the names you just gave the signals. That's it.

The only hitch that I discovered by trial and error is that you need to be sure to have at least two more signals on each of the lines leading to the crossover so trainz can look at several clear blocks and give you a green. If it doesn't see at least two clear blocks it assumes a train might be coming and gives you a red.

Hi shahichirag
I have dug this up from my archives

Junction 1 and 2 are invisible levers
Green wire = invisible track (this need not connect as in diagram)
Junction controller (creator Mitz).
Set points as illustrated.
