in the image is a set of sig's

but what they are for or how they work is unknown to me...

to the left out of shot is a level crossing. both sigs are facing traffic coming from the right of image and are one on each track.

I'm only asking about the top section of the sig the illuminated arms, I know QR has a Y sig like these but in this case the Y is more 1.30 and 3 o'clock and 9 and 10.30 .

what they are for or work please help me as they are in a part of my route and would like to have them in if I can..

Hi targanon,

Those arms above the signals are Junction Indicators, there are some consisting of 6 arms, they are usually placed before track turnouts and their purpose is to identify the route over which the train will proceed.

Cheers,

Marty

yeah I figured that but these are not like any in trainz.

I know its crude but best I could come up with in text....

its the horizontal arm that I"m not sure about.

there is a level crossing beyond the sig and then following that a crossover then bridge and a crossover facing other way.

As far as I can tell in the photograph, those signals are two aspect absolute signals with dual 'feathers' (the junction indicators already mentioned). The default Auran QR signals are similar but are only available in 3 and 4 aspect forms ('aspect' simply refers to the amount of coloured lights displayed - i.e. 3 aspect means it can display red, yellow and green.)

However, Bloodnok has a British signal pack available on the DLS which includes 2 aspect light signals, that can be set to appear as working junction signals with feathers in such alignments, that look almost the same as those, but I've never been able to get the feathers to appear sadly no matter how much tinkering I do.

Anyway, this is the link for the signalling pack: http://www.auran.com/TRS2004/DLS_packcontents.php?AssetPackID=12279 (note that this is 04 content, but it still works perfectly in later versions of Trainz)> :)

If having trouble with Feathered signals.
Try placing the feathered Signal 20/25Mts before Junction and place a "Signal invisable <2:53425:1000:1>" on the exit track.
If using a crossover track between 2 tracks Place the Inv signal in the centre of the cross track.
It is possible to check if feather works in suveyor just place a wagon or coach on the approach track and and manualy move it back and forth adjusting both Junction switch's.

Thanks guys.....

that helps a bit ... the feathers is what I was on about and the aspects I already understood...

I knew about the ones in Trainz how they worked but as I'm from NSW where I grew up I don't remember ever seeing feathers there... so seeing those in the pic I thought they may have had another meaning..
