Signals not flashing

Hi there,

Recently downloaded the newest version of TRAINZPLUS and overall happy with the performance. One thing I noticed is that unscripted signals do not 'flash'. When checking the config files of the signals and updating it, tweaking some values, and testing it ingame, does not seem to work. I remember from older versions (TS12) that this never was a problem. Is this just some sort of bug we have to deal with? Are there people sharing this experience? Or is there anyone that found the solution/way to work with this?

Example from the 'signals' container of such signal:

8
{
light 4
flash 0.85
flash-offset 0.7
}

Thanks!

Trainz 2022 SP5, build 129392.

Dutch signals, e.g. <kuid:386322:3172> " "NLhoofdsein-digit-4-WL-L"
Danish signals, e.g. <kuid2:753184:100459:1> "DKs PU gitterstang(last)"
Belgium signals, e.g. <kuid2:130544:24105:1> "signalavertisseurvn"

All these signals use the "flash" term in their configs.

I have tested them using "set signal ahead" commands and on a test route with multiple tracks/junctions etc. Also unpausing the game/placing trains on the track/disabling or enabling the corona rendering did not change anything. Maybe I missed something?

Thanks

Hi,
I observed same problem with signals which earlier used to flash in Trainz 2012 stopped in 2022 (and 2019? cant remember).

All Danish pre-signals (F-signals) are supposed to flash, such as <kuid2:753184:100261:1> "DKs F-signal", but they are no longer flashing.
However, I found one working signal: <kuid2:96775:100040:2> "DK Signal 2-Aspect TS12" - this flashes Green as it is supposed to do.

This does not help your (or my) problem, but I think this narrows it down to a change in how a Flash part should be defined.

Older signals have issues due to changes in how scripts are handled in TRS22. The developers were warned for years that the scripts would be blocked and nothing was done to fix signals and many other scripted assets, prior to the more recent updates in TRS22.

Due to this, people are now scrambling to fix these assets. There is a European Signal group that is working on this and they have some assets that are working. The content creators who made the Danish signals need to contact the group or work with them to repair the signals.
