Signals at tracks crossing

I am a 2 month newbie with TS2010EE. I have greatly appreciated the help I have gotten from this forum so far. I have been working on a route that has 2 tracks that cross each other at 90 degree angles. I have placed signals at the entrance of the intersection. The signals are "signal usa 04" signals. It seems that when a train is approaching the intersection that the signal on the other track should give a red indication, but it doesn't. It still shows a green indication. I was going to place an image of what I am working on, but I guess I am not able to do so. How do I get permission to place an image on posts? In advance thanks for any help....

Firstly, Welcome to the Trainz Forums, a place where 12 times out of 10, your question will be answered by someone!:hehe:

Now to your problem: I believe there is a rule on the Download Station (DLS) that will let you do what you are trying to do.

What you have assembled is a diamond crossing, and to use it properly, you might want to try this asset:
http://www.auran.com/TRS2004/DLS_viewasset.php?AssetID=147072

That's the only one I can find at this stage, but I think there is a better one out there somewhere, just not sure where.

Happy Trainzing,;)
Scott.

As far as I know X crossings are not handled by the built-in signalling, so it will give you an green light on both simultaneously. I use Russian Z7 signals they are scripted and have triggers to cover X crossings, so only one path would be open at any time.

Railsong,

Try this website for some good tutorials (part 12 covers the basics of what you need for crossings):

http://trains.0catch.com/tutorial.html

Also this is a useful general site for Trainz which list all sorts of useful info and links:

http://trainzresources.com/directory/

To post screenshots you need to get a free internet photo hosting site like Photobucket or similar and upload your screenshots there, then add a link to the image on that site in your forum post.

 Thanks for the replies on my signal problem. I do have the tutorial but I guess I just missed the part 12 of it. I will study it and see if I can figure it out. Also I will look on the DLS for the diamond crossing. al.sa where do I find the Russian Z7 signals? Are they on the DLS? Thanks again....
