Signaling Probs

Hey im having a problem with semephor signalling in trainz classics v3

The semaphore signals say that no train is approching until the train is about 1 meter away? But then if I use the aspect signals it works!
This even happens when the track is clear with lots of signals ahead so it is not anything to do with unsignalled or blocked track.
it is purely the signal does not seem to recognise there is a train approching untill it is right next to it!
