Signal Reading Distance?

Ok, I can understand it not being prototypical but on one of my routes the locos would stop at the signal and not continue. I put a signal about half way between the two signals and now everything works. And it wasn't even close to being 18 miles between signals. So far no corn field meets.

But what you might find is if an AI train in the one direction detects the block is clear to an intermediate signal, it will be released from the crossing loop onto the single line even though another is already one coming the other way - rather than being held on the loop. On prototype routes signalled in this way I assume the interlocking logic is linked to the whole section and or exit from the next block post/crossing loop but I have my doubts the signalling in Trainz (or any other sim for that matter) is clever enough to do this properly.

"Stand off", then, on the single line rather than collision.

I'm only theorising so maybe experimentation is required. As I said in the other thread maybe it works if there are intermediate signals in both directions but overlapped slightly and even then you could only have one intermediate signal which still might not overcome the problem through really long sections.

Ultimately the whole signalling/AI/despatcher etc. in TRS is well overdue a thorough overhaul and we can only hope the programmers are looking at this for TS-X.

signal problem

i don't remember who made them but i use junction master for long single track. what it does is set the next turnout which changes the opposing trains signal to red.
it seems to work most of the time when running a lot of consists on AI.

signal problem

sorry i had the name of the junction controller wrong. the kuid numbers are 122381:10004,10003,10005.
i hope this helps you fix your problem.
