Hello all! I just recently was texted some pictures by a family friend that works for the CSX in my area, I'm building the route he works on. This odd sideway signal is pictured and I would like to add it. Does anyone know what they are called and where I can find one for the game? Thanks In advance for any info, Ben :)

These are quite common, actually and are signals that are not in service so they are turned away from the line of sight so the driver and conductors don't mistake the signal as an out of order in-service signal.

There are two ways to put one of these on your route.

1) You can place a short piece of invisible track, and place the suitable signal on the track piece. The caveat here is the signal may show a red aspect.

2) Clone the signal and change it's type from Trackside object to a scenery object.

This is probably the better approach for what you want.

I think what Ben is referring to as "sideways" is that the aspects of signal in the picture are horizontal:

O O O

instead of vertical:

O
O
O

I'll have to look through my Grahamsea collection. I believe I have seen them somewhere...

This would be radio switch controllers... If any movement is normal, it will make a radio transmission and say "LOCATION EAST OR WEST SWITCH IS NORMAL." I've never heard the transmission say anything else besides that in my area of railroading (KCS Mexico, Roudhouse Sub). A Clear aspect will display for normal movement, Yellow for diverging, and Red for any movement past the signal...

Doh. My error! I thought, even though I saw the picture, he was looking for an out of service signal. Yup. jonroma has some.
