I can't help but find this whole sig banner size issue to be highly entertaining, and amusing, in a sad perverse comedy of errors type of way.
Consider this:
An organization makes a rule and insists it's members adhere to it. They then do not enforce it.
They are in the wrong; why make the rule at all?
A member of an organization agrees to follow the rules of the organization, but then decides to ignore the rule as if it didn't apply to them.
They are in the wrong, the rule applies to every member of the organization.
Another member points out the rule is not being followed nor enforced, a rule the organization made, and the other members agreed to follow.
The members that point out the rule and ask that it be enforced are right, they have done nothing wrong by either way you look at it.
Of the three, the last group is castigated, cursed and belittled. The other two groups carry on, secure in they're belief that they are right.
I guess cops and criminals are more alike than they would care to admit.
