Great skins everyone!!
Just something I finished up, basically just a skin of some hoppers on the DLS, patches, texture improvement, and weathering were added.

While on the topic of hoppers, I convinced myself to finish yet another very very VERY old project that I had put aside...whomever said "you can't teach a new dog new tricks" was a terrible liar. :hehe:

Got a little bored the last few days, the result was a bit more BayArea content: (Skinned from CloakedGhost's Metra Cars)

I'm curious how you managed to remove the side panel? I actually got permission from CG to release mine when finished but as they still aren't there there are still no available Caltrain cars to the general public :/

This is great. I am about four blocks away from the station, thanks for sharing. I didn't know cloakedghost had those Nippon-Sharyo gallery bi-level cars. I will have to check them out. Would be nice to get a Caltrain set for a route I am brewing. Is there a link you can provide on the cloakedghost site? I cannot find anything for those.

looks cool man. I remember walking in San-Fran and being at that main terminal, had to have been about 8 of those cab cars.
Thanks! They are certainly an iconic bunch of cars, it's very interesting getting to see them all lined up like that at the Terminal.

The panel is actually still there, the trick is to skin the texture behind the panel onto it while making sure the lines line up. It's a bit of a relief to here you say that you have permission to release from CG, I was a bit worried I wouldn't be able to get permission (crossing my fingers still I can get them released).

They are on the DLS, just search 'metra' and you should see them. I'm always shocked that there is not more CalTrain equipment, hopefully that will change soon. I'm planing on skinning a set of CalTrain Bombardiers next, to match my ACE set, then hopefully create a psd for the bombardier coach with the shadowing.

cheers

I am fond of this and earlier generations of the Caltrain equipment. Not sure if you know about them. Obviously, you can easily google that, so I am not going to post a bunch of stuff, just one example:

Yeah, I grew up in the SJ area, I've seen just about everything short of the SP commuter traffic wayyy, back when.... too young to remember SP

New RAPT (Russian American Passenger Transportation) P42, to be released on the site maybe.

You ever think about doing a fictional route that would connect Russian to Alaska via the Bering Strait. Would be an interesting route and a good platform for your railroad concept.

+1
That would be great. Like a double track bridge and huge yards at both ends for customs. And a logistics terminal at Russian side to transfer freight from US gauge trains to RUS gauge trains to Vladivostok direction.

Yeah that would be cool for the RAPT but the RAFT dont have direct connections to russia, its just airline service to and from to get freight across the boarders then to the trains.
