Show off your reskins!

Wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this. Honestly, I don't hate it...

After stepping away from them for almost a year, I've been tinkering around with my SP&S C636 reskins again. I've been fine-tuning some of the textures and was able to add felix_g's rotary beacon mesh:

And since I have a better sense of the mapping now, I decided to go ahead and try out an IC C636 variation as well:

I also started working on an NdeM reskin of whitepass's PRR C630 model - in reality, these 8300-class units were C628s rebuilt to C630 specifications, but I think the model still mostly fits:

All of these still are still a work in progress, but I'm pretty happy with how they're coming along.

Finally decided to put the finishing touches on my model of CP 2860. The model is Ben Neal's CP 4-6-4 Royal Hudson, re-textured and with all new engine specs, whistle, and smoke effects, paired with K&L Trainz's CP oil tender with 6-axle trucks. It includes toggleable front nameboards (visible in my earlier post about the 2860).

Once the restoration of Canadian Pacific 2860 was completed, she was put to work pulling the Arizona Central's weekend train "Canyon Chief" for testing late in the wintertime. The locomotive's smaller max power output combined with a mile-long 2.5% grade out of Flagstaff necessitated the use of a diesel helper for the runs in the form of the AZCR's F40PH. Below are shots of CP 2860's first revenue run in 15 years. Once finished with testing, she will be shipped back to the West Coast Railway Association in Squamish, BC.

Not too many places where you can see two operational CP sisters (even if one is disguised as a Santa Fe mike). The AZCR's Summers Spring Shops will now look for another project, as the next project on the list is the Grand Canyon Railway's no. 4960, undergoing her 1472 rebuild next year.

Very nice reskins BrianPacos!

I actually like that fictional ATSF F40PH and that would look good in both passenger and frieght service like the longer FP45.
Thanks! I patterned the scheme after the F7's that the ATSF rostered as opposed to the later F45's to make it look more accurate to the steam/transition era consists the Santa Fe ran. Its number (330) is also consistent with the number for ATSF F7's. I also have a SP wrap for it for when I host SP 4449 (which needs a helper for the longer 11-car summer trains).
