Show off your reskins!

I have a problem with the uploading of those trucks. I get a warning saying something about a "uniform color(s)". Everything else from the four units are on the DLS. I just wanna figure out how to fix it.

spent a few hours and came up with this:

I wanted a railroad to handle mainline switching duties on my Modified UMR route, so I came up with the Republic Railroad. It will consist of old, but well-maintained ALCos, as well as a few former Moldy Banana Booster units for the occasional Heavy Haul. This is (obviously) a reskin of Felix's F&W RSD-5, and I would like to learn some good weathering techniques, so I can make some beat-up units for another railroad I plan to use for one of the branch lines.

Hopefully they'll have ARN. Worst problem is I understand scripting the way a monkey understands bananas. See a banana on a tree it's not to hard to pick it and figure out how to peel and eat it, but wouldn't have the first clue how to plant and cultivate a banana tree. I'm using an old wulf9 / norfolksouthern37 script that has sound effects, marker lights, class lights, beacon, fan animation effects, and an automatic banana peeler, also includes automatic running numbers. Paul's NH Class DERS-6 F-M H-16-44 Undec,<kuid:520526:1530> has a marker light script, took me the best part of a day to get the two scripts to stop fighting with each other. Not sure if I have it right yet, it looks like it's working correctly but I have no idea why.

1691 is the trailing loco of that pair, got marker lights on, 1622 is lead loco so marker lights are off, on for the one behind it.

Headlights work the right way and markers go off depending on which end is coupled. One problem;

C&NW traditionally had big numbers painted on the side of the long hood, nothing but the bar and bell logo on the side of the cab. Gotta work with what you have, made the logo as big as would fit between the window and number. Looking in an old C&NW book there were apparently 65 of these made, C&NW owned 59 of the 65.

Strike that, the C&NW never actually had any of these - they had H-16-66 models, which were apparently 6 axle versions of the H-16-44. No wonder I kept having trouble matching details. :hehe: Anyway I got the 44, so I'm gonna go ahead and make some anyway, as usual still trying to find the true color for C&NW that looks like the true color in game - what you see in the image editor is not what you get in game most of the time.

Some other C&NW skins by other repainters mixed with mine, can't find the Alco RS3s someone skinned recently with what looked like the true color in game. Color photography back in the 50s was expensive and unreliable, and photos exposed to light had the colors fade pretty quick, so the green is all over the place.

U boat, gotta do one of them. Me like! :cool:

Frogpipe, thanks, already had the 3Dtrains one, looked wrong to me.

Of the three none of the greens look right, the upper left yellow is probably correct. Even if you hit the true color tho;

Left is the skin in Paint Shop Pro, lower right FM is in game, upper right is pic of an actual GP7 fresh from the paint factory. The F7 started with what I consider the true colors, then had to be adapted for the game lighting. And before anyone suggests it, I spent most of the early 70s as an offset pressman matching ink colors, when I joined the Navy I had to pass a 100% perfect color vision test for my MOS. My oldest son has that common form of color blindness that gives trouble distinguishing shades of blue-green, I don't.
