Only if you have something very simple to change and no access to any other program. Honestly you should be using at least Gimp or an equivalent program... Paint.net is way too limited in scope to be of great use for anything other than the most basic of tasks.....

Not really, it only has additional elements visible in the toolbars over .Net, truth be told if you spend time with it you will see how much more useful it is at creating much better skins.

There will be a learning curve (and much cursing) but it will be worth it. When I had to change from my favourite commercial graphics editor to GIMP I found the initial experience frustrating and confusing. But now I would not think of even buying a commercial graphics editor ever again. The program has a good help feature with links to their tutorial web site built into GIMP which helps ease the pain.

I reskinned a switch engine using Gimp but when I pull the camera back a little way, the blue color of the reskin disappears and reverts back to the original gray. When I questioned this in the Forum somebody told me to upgrade the texture. What is that all about?

Probably means there are different texture sizes that you also need to replace with your skin.

When TRS4 came out we where tolled to make a texture for each LOD so some old things have 2 or 3 textures, this is now a very bad way to make things.

I increased the texture size and that did the trick. Thanks again.
BTW I only have that problem with Tane, never with TS12.

I still have to do the skins for the P7 drivers and the numbers on the J unit but here are a few AS&S steamers.

I need to dull the red on the P7 here.

Have to build new deflectors for the J3a.
