should I get ts2010 or 2012?

I have both and recommend 2012 for two main reasons, superior graphics and doppler. And as someone mentioned, a much more efficient taddaemon. Mine closes down in seconds after exiting TRS2012.

I have both, I recommend 2010.
Seeing your computer specifications I understand your recommendation... LOLZ.. ok no joke here , just wanna mention that TS12 is backward compatible with TS10 , if you install TS10 as ADD-ON to your existing trainz installation, then you can play all TS10 content, in ONE game, plus the content updates doesn't take years coz there is the function : download all... In TS10 you have to download content updates one by one which is around 1500 pieces approximately.. He have a decent computer as he mentioned before so that not an excuse. By the way any trainz game can be enjoyable, I recommend TS12 as a "MUST HAVE" .. but.... peoples are different as point of views. The main purpose is the fun and enjoy.

Wow. But i recommend TRS12 because of the nice Doppler effect and the very realistic track sounds that the trains make. Plus it's got some nice routes. Mojave Sub, Debrechen, Southern China and a couple more. I recommend getting 12.

I would suggest getting both versions , and then using T12 to import whatever you like about TR10 . Both versions are cool and have their own 'highlights'.Which version will or can you get first you will have to decide when you evaluate these answers and pick the one/s which suit your fancy. If you get one of them you probably will always be wondering about the one you did not get anyway. For me it is fun to play in TS2006, TR10 and TR12 when I want to. Now and then I grab an asset from one and stick it into the other and sit with the errors and broken and missing stuff that has to be fixed, ( my own fault mostly ) and that can also be fun if you can keep al your piggies in a row.I would have liked to merge the two versions and get what I like best of both for me, but if you read all the relevant threads you will see that there is a zillion things to learn to do to get that stuff right. If you are a computer boffin allready you are well on your way.
