Plus..
Better frame rates.
Better Draw distance.
Better Speed Trees than in 2010, not as good as the user made ones but not as bizarre either
Additional slider to control Speedtree detail, can vary the LOD distance with it.
Less of the automatic limiting that causes things to pop in and out of view.
Less unused stuff cluttering up the database.
Satellite view, very useful for deleting boards from above.
A more efficient TadDaemon, that gives clearer indication of what it is doing and does it a lot quicker than 2010.
Extra information on the developer on screen stats, handy for weeding out the inefficient stuff.
Automatic backup of what you have been doing each day, thats what you have been working on, edited or installed. Needs reducing from the default of 7 days though or you will end up using a lot of disk space.
To me seems to be a far more reliable connection to the DLS, probably due to a better TadDaemon.
Some excellent new routes, ok no old stuff but would you really want three or 4 DVD's to install or download?
Ability to add the 2010 JA files, if you have it to TS12, unofficially this seems to also work for 2009.
Seems far more stable than 2010 which again was better than 2009.
Content manger seems more stable as well.
Physics though not perfect are improved.
Probably something I've missed. :hehe:
Broken assets? Well I fixed all I needed to fix for 2010 native mode, maybe had half a dozen or so to tweak for TS12, currently I have zero faulty and zero errors Perhaps if people had done similar while they had both modes, rather than being glued to compatibility mode, then the higher level of error checking in TS12 wouldn't have been such a shock.
In my opinion for someone just starting TS12 is probably the way to go, however if upgrading from 2006, I'd suggest a period with 2010 first, to ease the transition from old methods to new.
