Ok, first of all, I've never been a dedicated train sim fan. By I tend to play them recreational from time to time since MS Train Sim and the first Trainz.
That time was about the last time I tried the Trainz series, because I was more into driving then creating. And the MS Train Simulator way appelead to me more as it was more about driving predefined scenarios then playing with a sandbox railroad.
Now I'm having fun with Railworks 2...as it is using the same approach I found enjoyable in MS train Sim. Now the good 'ol steam has suggested Trainz 12 to me, and I though to myself 'hell, I haven't tried Trainz for a loooong time' (and I must say the screenshots and trailer got me hooked)
So, my question (or questions) is. How did the series evolved since the first Trainz. Will player like me - looking for predefined scenarios with objectives to accomplish find enough enjoyment to justify the buy?
And second question. Does it have any assist to help me drive the train? I'm particualy interested if it got an assits that will help me not to overshoot a station on a railroad I don't know well? (some 'distance to next station' assist)
Thank you in advance.
