Erik......
Bill69 and Euphod are correct about dependencies ( or 'Content'), but as a large amount of content is already shared via the DLS issues of permission are not normally a problem.
Here are some guiidelines for TRS 2009.
To find your route select "Content" from the first Trainz screen. This opens an application called Content Manager V2.0.
Pick the Tab labelled "My Content". This will bring up a list of things you have created. Some of these will be "Routes" and some will be "Sessions", in the "Type" column the icons are only very slighly different - hover your mouse over then to see a tooltip which shows you a text explanation.
Put simplistically "Routes" contain the fixed geographical assets like terrain, buildings etc. "Sessions" contain the Drivers, Locos, Stock and 'Driving rules' for a given route.
You may only want to share a route or you may want to share a route and a session. To do so the basic idea is the same ......
To send a route to someone else you do not have to send it to the Download Station (DLS) - you may only want to do this when it is complete and you are ready to make it available to everbody in the Trainz community. To just send the route to a friend so they can test it (for example) just try the following:
From the "My Content" tab pick your route and right click on it. A popup menu will appear - select "Save to CDP" and name and save the file. Basically what you are saving is 'just another computer file' which you can send to your friend via email and they can load using th "Import CDP" option on the "File" menu. They will, of course, need their own version of Trainz 2009 in order to do this!
Note: You cannot import routes from TRS 2009 into earlier versions of Trains (e.g. 2006).
If your route/session contains 'dependancies/content' which your friend does not have then they will need to obtain these. The easiest way is from the DLS (which will also mean that any content they are obtaining has been made publically available so there are no issues of permissions).
Hope this helps!
