Settle & Carlisle in 2012

Hi Folks,

I purchased the add on pack, Settle & Carlisle for TS12 and am having loads of problems with unknown routes, stack dumps etc. The add on pack installed correctly, no issues there. When I look at the supposed active industries they are all over the place. All the goods sheds are sitting in nearby fields, miles from the nearest track. Once I select an active industry for navigation, I get the error beetle in the right hand of the screen with the stack dump reference, unknown destination etc. Does anyone know of a fix for this?

Cheers
Clancy

Not sure about this , the team were only committed to support S&C up to 2010, I think. I have it running ok in my TR2012 but it was imported from TR2009 to TR2010 including all patches so works OK.

Hi Jack, yes, so it was in the past, however Auran / Simulator Central are selling it as a TS10 AND TS12 addon, says so in the advert. The support website for the product refers to compatibility with ts2009 only and any updates there refer to ts09 only. It's poor service if they have rehashed it for TS12 in order to make money and then offer no corrective patch.I will drop them a line over at rail sim to see why it's been sold for TS 12.

Here is the link to where I purchased it from:

Have you tried an extended database repair as it just seems as though it simply hasn't installed properly. Too many of us have SnC installed in TS12 for there to be a inherent problem. If this doesn't work delete the SnC.ja file from the built in items switch off your Internet connection and antivirus program and install again.

Just run the update in TS12 and it works out all it has to do is add in the updated content. Works fine.

Folks, thanks for all the tips!! I ran the patch and it fixed a multitude, just 2 problems left - the industrial goods sheds are still off line, just those 2. Cant figure out how to get them working on a route. I can send trains everywhere else bar those 2 which come back as unknown destinations. Both sheds are active in surveyor just no tracks leading to them. Can one of you check and see if your sheds are sitting in fields like mine are?

Thanks for all the advice so far, I really appreciate it!

Hi Clancy212,

It's a very big layout to find things on. Can you give me the name or number of the nearest junction?
And/or the name of the goods sheds if they are named in surveyor.

Cheers,

Hi Folks,

I don't have the issue with London Road as it shows in my installation is inactive and when highlighted in the "navigate to" drop box it points to Kirby Stephen Goods Shed and no train will budge to that destination. The goods sheds that are lying either in fields, without tracks or sideways are:

Factory_8_GENGOODS 1
Factory_8_GENGOODS 3
Goods _Shed_ IND 12
Goods _Shed_ IND 13

All suggestions welcome!

Hi Clancy,

In my TS12 S&C installation the Factory_8_Gengoods 1 & 3 have no track connected to them this also applies to Good_Shed_ind 12 & 13.

London Road Goods Shed is active and Kirby Stephen Goods Shed is active. Trainz will find a way to both of these from about 1 mile away.
If you are ordering a train to go to one of these goods sheds from a long way off you might have to give it a few drive via trackmark orders first to get it going in the right direction. If that does not work you could have a break in the track somewhere in which case you should drive the train yourself to see if it derails at a track break.

Thanks Bill, that's a pity those 4 are not serviced as the area is well tracked and I have shunted a few around it and the tracks and signals are ok. I don't always stick to the installed scenarios - I create a copy of the route, give it a an alt name and clear it of any basic trains so as I can use my collection of high detail steamers and old diesels. I like a mixture of goods and passenger services. I set up goods trains to run like AI and then drive my passenger sets. It's a fantastic layout, but I guess I cannot have it every way lol. At least I know now that they are inactive sheds.

Can anyone tell me why passenger stations are not listed in the "navigate to or Drive to" drop downs? I can get to them via trackmark commands but not directly.

Cheers

Clancy.

You are referring to creating schedules for your cloned S&C route? Open an original S&C session and route in Surveyor. Choose a session that obviously has passenger trains. For instance, open the Morning Commuter session in the Craven District route. Now go to Edit Session > Edit Drivers and look at the schedule for a passenger train. These are filled with 'Navigate/Drive To station name' commands.
The failure of station names to appear in drop down lists for the Navigate To and Drive To commands must have been introduced with the cloning of the route.

Yes Shane, you are right, I checked them out and inactive. On a separate note, I have been building a new route over the past few months, I have downloaded a lot of your guides Shane, not to mention your creations and I tip my hat to you Sir, fabulous work on your behalf - your hired - seriously I think many newbies would give up on Train Sim without this forum and the help from vets like you. My wife gave me a copy of 2006 in a stocking filler last year as a joke and I am addicted to the damn thing - this year I hope she gets me a drivers cap, a pack of tobacco and a decent pipe and then I can get lost in 1960 era steamers lol - I more likely will be taken to the divorce courts - her citing that I disappear down a railway track for hours every night lmao!
