Settle and Carlisle

Hello All
Wondering if anyone might be able to help with these questions ? I have an original boxed version of TC3 and I understand that it can be put into Trainz2010, which I also have the boxed version of, with all patches/service packs updated as far as I know.

Can I do that and if so how ? I would need to have every step explained in simple terms if possible - not very computer savvy !

Also there are updates on the Settle and Carlisle website, I presume I would get those after the above, if poss.?

Any answers or advice would be appreciated,

Thank you,

Petertenz

S&C contains all the TC3 items but with some updates and additions. From memory not all TC3 assets are error free in TS2010. I'd go with the S&C version.

John is correct, although there is a way of adding the boxed S&C to TS2010, if I remember correctly you will need to do a lot of fixes to the content. The easy way is to buy the S&C add on for TS2009 and add this to TS2010. Which ever way you decide to go I'm sure one of us will be able to remember how we did it !

With the S+C it asks do you want to install as a stand alone, select no then it will go into 2010, or if you have 2012 as well you choose where to put it.

Too many game changes were made between Trainz Classics and TS2009 to allow this to be done easily. A lot of the assets in TC3 will not work well in TS2009/TS2010. This is one reason why Rail-Sim created an S&C Add On package for TS2009 with a later Service Pack for TS2010. The Add On doesn't just make the TC3 content useable in TS2009. There are modifcations to improve asset performance. For instance, the trackside industries had their interactivity enhanced and wagons were added or modified to service those industries.
If you would like to have the S&C route, assets and sessions in TS2010 you must acquire the TS2009 S&C installation package, which is now quite cheap. Install this into TS2010, then install the TS2010 S&C Service Pack available from the S&C website.

Thank You All
Thanks to all the above for your quick and helpful replies - much appreciated.
I decided to follow ElStoko's advice and have downloaded the Ts2009 S & C package, and the service pack and at first try all seems to be working well (having worked out how, what and where do it all !). Thank you all again,

Petertenz
