Setting the livery for portal traffic.

I've been a bit of a nuisance recently but if anybody can help with this i woud be grateful.Maybe i'm missing a trick here.Is there a way to set the livery for portal traffic (Daimlers buses) so that every bus apears with the same livery (Glasgow livery) ?

The trick with the portals is to set them up correctly. If you using just one, the bus should return after 5 min, Unless you reset the time. If you using two portals you can set them so the bus enters 1 and returns though 2.The bus should not change colour. I am not aware of a way of the portals generating endless Glasgow buses.

This might or might not work as I have not tried it but you could try cloning the bus then replacing the livery.texture.txt, livery.tga, crest.texture.txt and crest.tga files in the directory with the specific ones from the AJS PSV Liveries library. This should remove the options for changing the liveries and only produce a single liveried bus. The main problem might be the script file that allows changes and you might have to remove the script reference in the config.txt file or make other changes.

One good way to check if it is possible is to contact the creator, andi06, and ask for his help.

Hi carr....yes the portals do generate numerous buses at whatever time rate you set them to.I have 2 adjacent portals producing buses every few minutes for one stretch of road stopping and picking up passengers along the way.Apart from not having running traffic (dosen't quite work with the trams running down the centre )my roads are busy. They are just coming out in various liveries when it was really the one colour i was after.

Hi there and thanks for trying to help.I don't think my capabilities would be up to that.It is a pity as the Glasgow livery is perfect for the backdrop. Thanks again.

Hi

Place one bus on the session and use the ? key to open the settings dialogue. Set the default livery to Glasgow and any further buses (single or double deckers) added to the route (including by a Portal) should appear in Glasgow livery. I haven't tried it as I use neither buses or Portals on the routes that I use but that is what is in the description when setting them up in Surveyor.

With andi06s other models such as his Gresley and Collet coaches the default livery can be changed in the config for the textures files but I've looked through the texture files config for the buses and can't see a default livery listed.

Regards

Brian
