Session creation question

If I download a route, let's say a GFisher route, and I change something like a building or a few trees on the route or even change the track to HP track (without adding turnouts or track in general). Now let's say I create a session for this route with the changes and I want to share the session on the DLS, will the session work with the original GFisher route, or would the session only work with the version with my changes?

Your session will currently only work with your new route. To get it to work with GFisher's route you must alter the config file in your session so that it refers to the kuid no. of the GFisher route and not the one that you have modified.

Another possibility (if I am understanding your situation correctly) is to get permission from the GFisher route creator and then load up the Route and Session. The first time you tried to save changes to the GFisher route, you would have been forced to create a new route with your own kuid so you already have the Route/Session combination. What you currently do not have is permission to put the revised GFisher route on DLS.

As an aside, I have been playing around with a few routes making what I perceive to be improvements etc., and my intent at some point is simply to ask the original creator to give me the ok to upload the revised version.
