Service Pack problem

Hello! As the title says, I've got a problem with the service packs for Trainz 2010 Engineers Edition. So I bought the game online and received it today. After I successfully installed it I tried to install the "42203 to 44088" patch and here's what happened : the Trainz Patcher started working and then suddenly stopped at the half of the patching process. What should I do now?

Simple answer - leave it to do it's job.

It is normal for this to happen, and the patch has not failed. Cancelling it at this point will mean you have to reinstall the game.

The only two times you can click the Close/Cancel button without issues is if either 'Patching Aborted' or 'Patching Completed' appears (although 'Patching Aborted' means that the patch has failed anyway, which may also mean a reinstall).

Stoping a patch might cause corrupt the installation, requiring that you to un-install, and re-install Trainz.

Your antivirus should be turned off when installing Trainz, as well as when installing the patch.

You should not use you PC while the installation and patch is going on.

You should not try to test run a train, prior to patching.

Installation and patches are best done overnight, while you are sleeping, leaving your PC completely undisturbed during all installations.

Click YES Install, to all installation questions posed.

A patch may seem stalled, but it is actually silently doing alot on your PC.

I stress: You should not even touch your PC mouse or keyboard during the installations.

A patch may take several hours, or up to many many hours.

If patching beyond 44088 see:

49933 has compatibility mode, 49933 is the standard non-Multiplayer patch.

49938 is the one that doesn't have compatibility mode. 49938 is the Multiplayer beta patch,

Trainz goes through a process with most of its patches in patching the builtin files. These are large 1 gig files that have to be processed and take lots of time. The progress bar usually stays at half way for a long period of time.

If you want before you start your patch open up the builtin directory in the Trainz area. You can then watch the builtin files being updated. There are 6 files in there usually and take anywhere from 9 to 15 minutes each to patch depending on the patch and your processor speed.

Now you have done that, you need to register your serial with N3V - click Planet Auran above, then Serial Number, then fill in the form.
