seats on platforms

Hi
I have a problem with putting passengers and seats etc. on to station platforms.
I position the seat onto the platform but when I run the train the passengers and seats appear on the track or landscape. Is there a way to position them so they don't move on the next run.
Thanks

Firstly, passengers are positioned by "attachment points" built into the asset by its creator. This applies to both rolling stock(e.g. carriages) and scenery assets such as platforms. These attachment points can only be altered by the original creator (or anyone who has access to the original GMax/Blender files that were used to create the asset).

I do not understand how the passengers (and seats??) can be appearing on the track or landscape unless you are using an invisible platform that has a passenger attachment area (usually indicated by a pale white box/diamond shape next to the track) that is larger than the visible platform asset you are using. If this is the case then you should use a wider and/or longer visible platform that covers the passenger area.

I am not aware of any industry active passenger asset that produces seats - perhaps if you can identify the particular asset that you are using.

Pete. I think he's talking about placing seat on the platform and having seated people on them as set asset,s.
Arwin. It's quite difficult to do and requires a bit of practice. The trick is to view your seats from different angles to get them right. Some you may have to raise using the raise key in surveyor. I try to set the height first away from the platform and then move the seat into position. Do the same with the seated person.

Arwin,

If this is happening in TS12, ensure that you are not placing the object while on the session layer. I have recently found that on my TS10, fixed scenery items placed while in the session layer tend to have a random placement. They always appeared correctly in surveyor but not in driver. Once I removed them from the session layer and replaced them in a different layer they would stay put.

Since I do not have 2012, I can not test this for you but perhaps you could try this.
