Search Content Manager for specific Rolling Stock

I'm looking for a way to search through Content Manager for Rolling Stock of a certain type.

Looking at the category-class field within the config.txt of a specific car will tell me its type. "XHT" for Covered Hopper.

Is there a way to search for similar? If I want to search for all rolling stock with this category "XHT" for instance?

Why not just add a new category to your search and type in 'covered hopper'? Works with boxcars, reefers and cabeese too!

Only because the naming convention isnt always intuative as I'd like. Maybe it is, cant say for sure but will a search for tanker bring up all tankers, Hopper, Boxcar etc?

It certainly brings up a bunch.

What I'm looking for is a way to do specific queries to build a consist for the CMTM system. I need x number of XRM's, XBG's, XTS's etc. I'd hoped to search by category.

I just tested it on the CMP. Add a new category below your DLS search category; bring up 'Name' in the left window and type in 'covered hopper' in the right window. Got about 80 or so entries for 'covered hopper'.
It may not be perfect, but it certainly narrows down the pages you'll be sifting thru.

I would do it this way.
(1) Location=DLS
(2)Category=Rolling Stock
(3)Name=BNSF or covered hopper or 3 or 4bay hopper
(4)Region=What every you want
Each time you add somthing a new list will come up.

A cm search for Keyword=tanker gives 903 results. Alter the name for other vehicle types.
Adding category=train vehicle narrows it to 376.
Adding minmum build=2.8 gives you 294.
Unless CMTM is in the name of the asset your going to have to read the description of it to find out.
Just been flicking through cm and only 4 authors (that I've found) have cmtm enabled assets.
msgsapper, dap, majekear and rgcx.

Out of curiosity, how did you find which authors had cmtm assets? Thats a really good tidbit to know.
I was doing a search of rolling stock with the character # in the name, and going from there. I'd try and determine if the car was capable for the CMTM numbering and if I could use it.
I have almost everything dap and msgsapper made already. I'll look at majekear and rgcs next.

CMTM is the Car Movement & Traffic Management System that I've been playing with. Seems so much more realistic than the normal industries.

I had to read the asset description, on the left after you click on an asset in cm.

On the black pages, http://www.auran.com/TRS2004/DLS.php , it is possible to search on description which is where the term CMTM is usually included, unfortunately the same search does not seem to be available in CM.
