SD40-2 cab question

Hello everyone

I have a question for you all - I have a question about the JR SD40-2 locos

I realise they don't have custom cabs, however which cabs do they use?
I ask because the inbuilt TS12 SD40-2 cab is utterly awful, whereas the cabs provided for the Mojave SP SD40T-2 (and the one for the SD45) are quite good.

It all depends on when they were made. You can however easily replace the SD40-2 cabs with the ones from the SP models.

I show that BNSF, NS, RBMN, and UB have cab shells which means they have the same cab as used in TS12 on the SP units. The others presumably do not.

It is also worth mentioning that the JR SD40-2s are getting a ground up rebuild that does include a brand new cab.
