how do i take screenshots for my custom content? i created a series of cars in UTC to commeorate 100th year of scouting in the US and would like to upload them to share them on the DLS. i have imported them into my TRS2009 to have access to content manager with them. i just need to know how to get screen shot. Thanks in advance guys!

While you're in driver mode or surveyour, get your view(camera angle) setup and then press the 'Prt Scrn' key on your computer keyboard. This takes a snapshot of whatever your monitor is displaying and stores it in your systems 'clipboard' or in other words...your computer RAM.

Then minmize or exit trainz and open up your art program(Photoshop etc or even Paint) and then select paste to paste the recently stored snapshot directly from your RAM, straight into the paint program.

If you are in Driver or Surveyor, hitting the Prtscrn key will automatically place a picture in the screenshots folder located in your Auran installation.

In TS2009, I think they're JPG just like they are in TS2010. You may have to convert them to JPGs to upload, and by all means rescale them to something reasonable if you're screen resolution is really high. You can use a program such as IRFAN View to do this. Check for it over at www.downloads.com

i tried irfanview once before and found it somewhat complicated but i was trying to reskin stuff then. due to budget cuts i have just downloaded it again to give it another shot. thanks for the help and i'll give it a try later this evening when my kids are done with their computer time

Also, before you press PrtScr, press F5 to get rid of the interface controls.

Use the MS Snipping Tool to drag a rectangular box on your monitor, it is a jpg and will end up in your PC Pictures files.

ok, so i have screenshots in my auran folder on my pc. after looking at them i realize i need to take better shots. but after i do this how do i attach them to said piece as a thumbnail so i can upload them the DLS?
