Have just recently replaced my old laptop with a new one and had a look at my old screenshots.......they were never crystal clear but they looked so much better than they do now with this new machine........to put it mildly.....they look absolutely terrible.........I don't know if it's to do with my settings or I have made a very poor choice. its an ASUS.....Windows 8........core i3.......Memory 4GB.......HDD 500GB.......Graphics Nvidia Geforce 610M 2GB...............not very good but still better than than the old machine.

Asus is a good machine, can you take it back and have them put Windows 7 on it?

Can you post a screenshot for us to perhaps diagnose the issue? That would be great!

Are you running the same or comparable screen resolution that you used before?

Screenshots with my Windows 8 look just fine. I recommend that you look at what is different between your new system and old system. Resolution? Color depth? Brightness?

No......I was told I had to adjust it to match this new computer.......which I did..........I haven't actually made a screenshot on this machine yet......what I meant was......when I had a look at the screenshots thread they appeared to be fuzzy and not s clear as they looked on the old machine.

If you're running in full screen, try one of the pre-configured window sizes under options instead. On my desktop machine running Windows 8, full screen looked fuzzy and distorted. When I switched to one of the pre-configured window sizes, it looked 100% better. And my frame rates got better too! :)

tks for that...........I've tried every setting with no improvement......I could run it in a smaller window but i really want to get maximum enjoyment from the game by playing it in full screen.

.....i wish i could but windows 8 won't allow it........my normal procedure on my old system was to print screen......open up paint and paste......save to my trainz folder then transfer to the screenshots thread.....ABC..........Now when i hit the print screen button, instead of getting the image i was constantly getting my desktop.......technical assistants tried it a few different ways and got the same result.......they couldn't do it.....they told me windows 8 is not compatible and is not good for gaming in general.

There's no need to do that in Trainz. Just press the print screen key. The file is saved automatically to a screenshots folder in the Auran/TRS2009 folder. I can't remember the exact path because I'm not running TRS2009 anymore.

The file maybe a .TGA which you will need to convert. You can then use Irfan View or Gimp for that.
