Screenshot of The Week: December 28 to January 4 2015 (Year In Review)

Even though my beautiful bay mare and my lovely collie are no longer with me, they are always in my mind and no matter whether it is this year or the next, I will always remember them. The best friends anyone could have. The other "looking back" for the year was the train excursion in August. Priceless.

Busy day on the mainline at GWR/SR Heathmore.

The scene is a busy day on the Great Western Railway (GWR) and Southern Railway (SR) mainlines at Heathmore.

I've been busy constructing this route during 2014 and hope to have it uploaded to the DLS, for TS12 SP1 and later TANE, in 2015.

It is a fictional representation of the sort of rural interchange station and joined good sheds (top right) that might have happened in the south-west of England if only these two post-grouping Railway companies could have cooperated instead of competing quite so aggressively.

The GWR in particular had many rural stations at some distance from towns and villages. while the SR criss-crossed the GWR mainlines at a number of places (often without convenient interchange stations).

The route also has features like a small fishing harbour, seaside beaches, viaducts, tunnels, lakes, portals at the four ends of the mainline generating rail traffic, as well as an AI-controlled session to run the whole railway.

Peter.

Review of 2014, MQJR 20 meets CPR 2858

Though some beloved things in my life will not be repeating in 2015, there are still alternates. Represented here by, steam may be gone, but there are still a few Baldwin S-12s, RS-12s, Vs-1000s and other end cab engines still in revenue service, we may not be able to enjoy what we most love, but there are still lovely alternatives.

Well, I really liked deadpoolmx55's, but the trainz isn't close enough, and I love nicky9499, It reminds me that 844 is silent.

However, here is my three
Trainboi1 - Love that Mina Branch train!
Lorma- The foliage and the 1225 Berkshire is a perfect combination.
Generalman-decided I had to vote for that classic Eastern style, the old pickup, the billboard and old 152.

As I said earlier, this group of pictures are worthy of a calendar.

trainman7616, I loved the misty hills in the background. The whole scene is lit by what professional photographers call "magic light."
generalman, your shot filled me with nostalgia for a bygone era. There were several more pictures that I loved. But, with difficulty, I chose these 3.
