Screen image hessitatio

:'(I am running Trainz 2012. My equipment includes 16GIG of memory, i7-2600K Intel processor, and an EVGA GTX570 video card. My new screen is capable of operating at 1920x1080. When running the game at the highest resolution, I get image hesitation especially when moving around in Surveyor. Shouldn't my system be cabable of running Trainz maxed out on everything? I forgot to mention I am running Windows 7 64-bit.

i get that in ten sometimes, when i accidentally have an extra process going on -- like a hook inside a portal that hasn't resolved. i thought at first it was a layers issue, but i merged and it still happened. what i did was just test out by opening another route. i don't know why this happens, but it does, and no matter how much memory we have, some things in the app always go or try to go into the same address.

i admire your system. did 64 bit on win7 help your trainz?

Several things.

I notice you have not registered TS12 yet. You may want to check into this.

Your system is very similar to the one I have as far as operating system, graphics card, and processor. At this point in time Trainz cannot take advantage of all the memory you have. On very large routes I have the same screen hesitation that you do in Surveyor. This seems to happen when I move quickly around the screen and Trainz is accessing the hard drive. I try to keep my hard drive defragmented, which seems to help. There is lots of data to access and process in this program.

On the other hand the Trainz experience in Driver is very smooth. There are only two routes that I have where the fps are below 20. In most cases my fps are in excess of 30-40 with some routes exceeding 100.

You may want to measure the frame rates you are experiencing in some of the routes. I think you will be pleased.

I surely did register my Trainz 2012. At least I think so.

What you described in your reply is exactly what I am experiencing. The hesitation is pronounced in Surveyor and not in Driver. I will take your advise and check the frame rates. Do you think I would be better off with a Radeon 6970 video card?

no, i haven't bought it yet, so yes, i really don't know what i'm talking about if i try to say something about 12. but, i was surprised to see this still happening to me in 2010, especially when i'm laying stuff down in 2006 and things are very smooth, no shudder in surveyor -- though, and exactly as you're saying, terrible driver mode shudder in 2006 -- and, i'm ATI 4890 over clocked, and an Intel q9550 o/c'd to 3.9 -- win xp 3 -- and, in 2010 my routes go very smooth. my test has always been harlem route, with fraps up and watching the change on a basic drive-order for leaving the station. i'm running in 1280x1024 so my fps is always higher than 40. be neat to run in a larger monitor.

someone wrote that one of those new silicon drives made his trainz run very smooth, accessing the drive being that much quicker.

I surely did register my Trainz 2012. At least I think so.
Based on the train stations next to your name, it looks like you did not connect your TS12 to your account yet. So maybe the registration didnt go correct.

Anyway,
Can you check the build number of your version? It is that big 5 diggit number in the bottom right corner on that options screen you get right after your start the game.
If that number is not 49922, go patch your version first. And before you ask: http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?83406-Where-are-the-patches .

O, and be sure to post your next TS12 related topic in the TS12 forum; thanks.

Thanks for everyone's help. Just for clarification I just checked to see if my Trainz 2012 is registered and sure enough it is. In the future I will post my questions in the TS12 section as you suggest. Thanks

The SSD's will help with data transfer, other members have documented that. Are you guys using your native resolution? Someone's stutters were cured by that little nugget awhile back...
