Santa Maria Valley Project

As some of you might have noticed in my BLOG. i'm working on a new Freeware route.
I picked Santa Maria Valley Railroad, a small railroad company located in, Yes Santa Maria, California.
They only serve 14 miles of Tracks, From Guadalupe(on the UP mainline) into the city of Santa Maria.
Santa Maria, along with neighboring Lompoc, Los Alamos and Santa Ynez Valleys, combine to create one of the nation's largest wine-producing regions.

The SMVRR connects with Guadalupe, California, interchanging with the Union Pacific Railroad.

I have changed the climate a bit, so it might be a bit greener than usual

You can see more at http://caddylars.gaurc.us/ (comments are welcome)

Theres also a section at our forum .

Since you said comments are welcome, I will state that I cannot, in good conscience, visit that site any longer, after it's recent regrettable decision to dabble in questionable publishing.

It's not meant against you or your route, and I hope you will continue to post some updates here, as I find your work splendid.

All the best!

Thanks for your comments Gentlemen.

@Ed: Are you serious?
The part you are refering to, has nada to do with my blog.
Theres a big difference between the Gaux News section, And My Gaurc Blog/Forum.

However if thats your decision, i have to respect that...
Still appriciate your kind words at the end though;)

Yeah...I don't want to hijack this thread, but...if I'm boycotting Scott Paper to be true to my convictions, it doesn't do any good to leave the toilet paper on the shelf, but walk out with a roll of paper towels. It's all part of the same package. I won't speak of it here again.

Anyway, it looks like your route is coming along nicely, good work!

On topic again, I was looking at the SMVRR website and it said they had recently closed and removed their downtown yard; is this included in the route?

No, The Miller street yard is not included so far. Im still thinking about adding it, but that meens i have to turn back time.
That would also make tons of more work;)

It's been many years since I've been to Santa Maria. From what I remember your doing a great job at recreating it. Contrary to popular belief California does turn green in most areas in the winter when it rains.;)

This is a magnificent route....
you've got one heck of a talent for industrial sidings...
keep up the good work

This causes me to wonder, is anyone thinking of creating the UP (former SP) coast route that this railroad connects to?

Just a few more

I'm not saying the guys at Pictsweet are lazy, but honestly, one man is doing the heavy work, while three others are drinking and smoking...
