San Francisco?

Here's a few picture's of the cable car turn around at Ghirardelli "Pronounced Gara-delly" Square. I have a few pictures of Fishermans Wharf and surrounding area including some of the Golden gate Bridge and the beach area. If you want I can zip them to you email.

Thanks for the offer of pics; at the moment I have quite a variety from many web sites in SF,and am trying to make area's that I can reasonably copy.

I will be concentrating on the cable car route and have completed all the tracks for them but without the Turntable's.

Having reduced the origonal Dem Map from about 750 boards to, I think about 200, and possibly a few more to cut out, the Golden Gate bridge area has gone already;all of Market St from Powell St to the wharf area is still on deck but not sure about adding Trolly & trams as well though.
The route may suffer the same fate as my Brisbane Tram map did and get too big If I get carried away.

NormP,

If you have not, you need to try Microsoft's Virtual Earth. Take time to try all modes. you will find it very usefull.

Yea I hear you on the FPS hit. You have a lot of nice looking buildings on this route, that's going to have a big hit on FPS. If you change your mind on the pic.s though just rattle my chain.

I don't supose there is a way to transport the San Francisco buildings from Virtual Earth to Trainz.:(
They certainly are low poly count.

Hyde Street

WOW! I can smell the salt air. That's a very impressive shot. Actually, many years ago, when there was industry near that area, you would get heady whiffs of aroma from a coffee roasting plant and a chocolate factory (Ghirardelli) and the salt air. I'm glad there are trainzers around like you to make this hobby so great.

HI AJ and Subwaymark
Thanks for the comments, and any suggestions are allways helpful for someone who is only working from Photos off the web.
I do have Lombard St very steep,I think it is the way I took the screenie that makes it look flat.

Hi NormP,
Haven't heard nor seen from you lately.
How's this project coming along? Any more updated screen shots available?

Just checking is all. I know it takes a lot of time to finish a route.

:)

Hi Rick.

I havn't stopped work on the SF route, a few breaks from time to time sometimes out of frustration, or mostly to do work on other projects.

There will be two versions,TC and 04 the difference between them is in the use of built in content for each version,NO built in's transfered from 04 into TC,there is a lot of 04 custom content used, some of it may show errors in CMP (TC) only simple config file errors that don't stop it working.

Here are a couple of Pic's of work in progress with plenty of changes or additions to them in the future.
