Saltash Line

Having seen so many great shots on here I thought it was time I got some feedback on a project Im working on. Its a fictional line based in the UK. Set up primarily for Steam but has some facilities for diesel.
So Im looking for feedback on what works and what doesn't, and how it could be improved. Sorry I havent learned yet how to get from fickr to putting up the actual images on here so here is the link.

That looks great!
Enjoyed going over those shots. Wondering how it all looks with some rolling stock on it.

Thanks. I shall take a few pics shortly with some rolling stock on it. This is kinda my practice run for the one I really want to build which is of my local area. I think Ive learned a lot while working on this (and it is far from finished).

Hi Antony

The route looks very well done. I have one small criticism in that the curves in the trackwork nearest the camera in the next to last picture look to be a little tight and the double slip therefore doesn't look quite right. Other than that I think that you have captured the atmosphere of the late 50's, early 60's steam/diesel era really well.

Regards

Brian

Thanks Brian. i shall go take a look at that. in the mean time Ive added a couple of pics with rolling stock on them. same address as OP

Funny to see how just a few pieces of rolling stock can put so much life into those pictures; thank you for that.

Your welcome. Ive not really made it specific to any area - you'll find assets from GWR, LMS, LNER and SR in there as well as some from neither company.
Brian. Ive altered the slip point. see what you think now.

I admit to having been a pest asking lots of things over time but I hope it has been worth it. My worst aspect is landscaping it as I find that the most difficult.

Hi again Antony

It looks better now and the whole route is much better than anything that I have created. My main interest is in railway operations so the routes that I create tend to be mostly just trackwork with only essential things like platforms and goods sheds to test something out. I would be delighted to be able to create something that looks as good as your route. Do you plan to upload it to the DLS when you have completed it?

Regards

Brian

Thanks Ken that is high praise indeed. I personally just thought it was average. Will I release it. I honestly had not thought about it. There is still a lot to do. There are several areas I have not shown that currently has no scenery and some where the scenery is just plain grass. I have however attempted to use only things from the DLC though there are some from S&C as well. I think there may be the odd tree from elsewhere but generally its all DLC. Once the WIP gets closer to what I want then I'll give more thought to possibly releasing. If I do then I shall want someone to test it though.

I thought Id add a couple more images. Same url as OP. can anyone point me in the right direction as to how to put these images directly onto the page please?

Excellent work there Antony....From the buildings to the surrounding countryside, it all works......really enjoyed going over them.

Go to the individual Flickr page for the picture. Click on the share icon (the little rectangle with the arrow pointing out of it) and expand the section that says 'grab the HTML/BB code'. Select BBCode, choose the image size you want and the copy the code from the box. Paste the code into your post and it should appear as above.

Nice route, by the way!
