Sad news for those of a certain age!

It has been anounced this morning that Oliver Postgate, creator of Ivor the Engine has passed away at the age of 82.

He created many other children's series and characters during the 1950's and 60's

Yes, my children grew up on his earlier creations. I was intrigued to hear on the Today programme that the Clangers scripts were actual words that were then imitated on a Swanee Whistle including apparently the phrase "sod it the're here again" which the BBC had problems over. What a fertile ground for research on what was actually said.

Yes, a very sad passing, I liked Noggin the best, but Ivor came in a very close second.....

Yes I grew up with the Clangers and Ivor too. Sad to see his passing.
