Does anyone if know if a S&DJR 7F 2-8-0 loco has been produced or is being produced, also a ex Midland 3F 0-6-0 tender loco with Johnson tender?. I did manage to modify "00" gauge 4F into a 3F but that was easy compared to trying to do it in Trainz and my computer skills are not upto doing.I would be quite happy to pay for them.

I have need of these for my SDJR route I am building in Ts2009 using Transdem. The only ones I have found are made by Paulztrainz (payware), unfortunately they do not look realistic enough in my opinion so I may have to substitute with LMSman's LMS 2-8-0's. John.

There is one being made at the moment you will have to register to see it but it is looking very good already.http://forum.uktrainz.co.uk/index
There is no Johnson 3f that I know of.

john_goddard. another one, that will make three SDJR Layout avaible for Trainz if you want a look at the others search SDJR Porject on this forum.:hehe:

Yes, I have looked at them and the scenery is very well done but they are not Dem based and so are not true to life. If you zoom out on the minimap you will see this clearly. I am using Transdem and spending hours trying to get the gradients as accurate as possible. The other thing holding things up is the lack of Trs2009 assets, specially trees! John.

Ok. I have never herd of Transdem.

Can I ask how fare you are as I'm very interested and can I see a few screenshots.

I have track down from Bath to past Wellow, but, as I said, I badly need Trs2009 native trees to make worthwhile screenshots. John.

nice can't wait to see the end product. It will be very interesting. Keep up the good work. I see you've said you substitute the 7f's with 8f's Can I ask have you got Lielestosbrat 9F as these where what started substituting 7f's in the 1960's.

As I use native mode I have not been able to use the 9Fs you mention, still can't get them to work in this mode! I don't think the 9Fs were used on the line till the last few years the line was open? John.

S&DJR 2-8-0 Tender Loco

My, I've certainly started something with my query.I must say I was quite impressed with TLBlade version of the S&D, although I don't think the line to Mangotsfield turned off just outside Bath Green Park station. I asked Gary from the Brittania website about the 2-8-0, he's hoping to build one sometime in the future but he's pretty busy at the moment. I shall look forward to seeing this new version of the S&D

The junction of the SDJR and Mangotsfield lines is only about 1/2 of a mile (41 chains to be exact!)from Green Park station. The SDJR line goes straight into a 1 in 50 climb up to Combe Down tunnel so double heading was needed with heavy loads. John.

It would be very interesting to see what Gary produces as all his models are very impressive at the moment he building standerd class locomotives which could also be used on the SDJR.

The 9F where intoduced to The SDJR with the 8F following a year later. The lines main trains stayed on the SDJR Until 1964 when all trains on the S&D where reduced to three or four carriage all station stoppers. before closer in March 1966. It is just a shame the isn't a new freeware Unrebuilt and Rebuilt West countries because they could be used as well. The only one is the High Poly Unrebuilt west country on the DLS. There is a rebuilt payware West country in payware by Barn700, but his models aren't to everyonce liking.

Gary supplied me with quite a few locos that were shedded on the SDJR in the 50's and I did hint that I was looking for the SDJR 7f 2-8-0s but he didn't respond so I didn't press him! I would gladly buy all 10 (?) that were built. John.

So would I. But the quetsion is would he build the 1925 7F's 86 to 89 which where constructed with larger boilers. they where then rebuilt in the early 1950's
80 to 89 (SDJR no') 13800 to 13809 (LMS No') 53800 TO 53809 (BR Numbers)

The 7f's always carried Black Liverys, only 88 has had the Prussian Blue livery (In preservation)

No he hasn't done any cabs for his loco's I'm afraid but he does give instructions of how to attach cabs to the locos on his website. But I don't think there are any LMS Cabs outside of the TC3 Locos.

Yes, I have used some of those and they work ok.

Hi John, regarding your earlier comment about the line to Bristol via Mangotsfield, I agree it does split where you say but if you go back towards the station and look at Junction 1034 it shows a line going off to Magnotsfield.(its near the gasometers). I'm sure that shouldn't be there I've checked with the book of S&D Track plans that I have.
