S&C content not working... despite S&C being installed!

Uninstalled S&C, re-installed- everything was still identical, even the sessions I'd created hadn't disappeared. Tried to uninstall S&C again- the uninstall file is corrupt. Same with TS12. :/ Any suggestions?

That's a known issue. You may need to use a third-party uninstall tool, but be aware that you will need to backup your <trainz install folder>/UserData folder first, and it's likely to uninstall both (SnC and TS12) at the same time.

The reason that everything has come back is because you did not delete everything in your cache file.
Go to X:\Program Files (x86)\N3V Games\Trainz Simulator 12\UserData\cache and delete all the items in that file.
X being the letter of your hard drive.
Also did you try doing a filter on [faulty/true] then [select all] then [edit\revert to original]

Cheers guys. I tried the 'revert to original' option on some stuff, it didn't work unfortunately. I've just tried Revo and it doesn't seem to be able to do it :/

Revo didn't manage it. The programs have disappeared from it's list but are still very much installed. What would happen if I went and literally deleted the program files on the C drive?

Which method did you use on Revo? Advanced mode would have removed everything (which is why I said about backing up the UserData folder to a safe location first).

Um, I think the one below advanced. It kept popping up with the dialog box telling me that the uninstall file was corrupt though.

Anyway, I've had to delete revo as I stupidly downloaded it from cnet which resulted in a load of tacky adware programs invading my pc- is there a safe place to download it from, and I'll try again?

The maker's site is the best place to get it, which I have linked to from my Revo Uninstaller tutorial on my tutorial site (which also has instructions on how to use it to remove Trainz fully).

Thanks Blackwatch. I'll try that.

I used to be so good with computers- I could always work out how to solve things and where to get software from etc... It seems that since moving to mac I've forgotten how to use Windows to it's full capacity, which is a shame.

So, because Revo did some uninstalling the first time, it can't locate Trainz. I've tried using Hunter mode but it said 'No installation package found!'

Seems I've really screwed this up!

In that case, you may need to do a manual removal. Best way of doing this is to move the UserData folder to a safe location, then remove the rest of the Trainz folder.

Once done, it's best to reinstall to the same place.

I've re-installed trainz. I'm going to set the SP1 update going overnight, and take it from there.

Thanks again Shane.

SP1 Update has failed multiple times, including using the patcher and the download from the website. I'm just gonna leave it for now and concentrate on getting my PC up to speed.

I've spoken with the manufacturer of the computer; because I'm running Windows XP, the newest update is 64 months old! I'd need an upgrade to Win 7 plus dedicated graphics card to make it work properly.
